One to Follow | @LittleKinJournal
With so many gorgeous and inspiring Instagram feeds popping up these days, there are a few that really stand out in the crowd. Over the next couple of months, we will be sharing some of our favorites in our new "One to Follow" series. First up is the lovely @LittleKinJournal, read on to find out more about this mama and her beautiful little family!
Kathrine was born and raised in Denmark. Until last year she lived in Copenhagen with her husband and their two darling little girls where she held a position as Fashion Director at a Danish fashion magazine.
After much consideration with her husband, who's originally form London, they decided it was timeto make some changes and six month after they moved to New York. The family now lives in a dreamy old brownstone in Brooklyn. Instead of spending her time working at an office, Kathrine is now free to spend her days with her children while she tries to do some writing and blogging after their bedtime.
We asked Kathrine some fun questions for this feature and were so delighted with her answers. Read on for more...
WHATS SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC TO LISTEN TO RIGHT NOW?
My eldest child Eleanor and I are both in love with Sufjan Stevens latest album Carrie & Lowell at the moment.
IF YOU HAD AN EXTRA $1000 DOLLARS TO USE FOR WHATEVER YOU'D LIKE, HOW WOULD YOU SPEND IT?
I would probably put them towards our next vacation (or maybe I would go and buy that really beautiful but extremely expensive ACNE coat I saw the other day. I don't buy very much clothing for myself, but when I do, I think more about quality and a timeless design than the actual price.)
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE INSTAGRAM ACCCOUNT AT THE MOMENT?
I have a lot. But @loopygibbens is definitely one of them. If I didn't live in New York I wouldn't mind living her life in the English countryside.
IF YOU HAD A FREE EVENING, WITHOUT CHILDREN, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
It would definitely be something with a few good cocktails at a cozy New York restaurant. Enjoyed either with my husband or with a good girlfriend. This is actually with my coming saturday evening looks like, and I can't wait!
FAVORITE CHILDRENS CLOTHING LINE?
Growing up with the Danish design tradition, I'm not a big fan of bright colors and noisy patters and I still tend to dress my girls in Danish or at least Scandinavian design. I love the Danish brand Christina Rohde which has excisted for almost 25 years and makes beautiful and understated kids wear that both my girls love to wear. Another Danish favorite of mine is Pierrot La Lune that has a nostalgic look to it and is produced in organic cotton and the softest Alpaca wool. I also just discovered the Finish brand Nieva Knitwear that does amazing knits for younger children.
FAVORITE PLACE TO SHOP FOR YOUR CHILDREN?
Since moving I have become an online shopper when it comes to children's wear.
FAVORITE CHILDRENS BOOK?
I'm still in love with Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, which was one of my own favorites as a child, and that I now get to read aloud for my children. I also love Emily Winfield Martin's
